Stranger than fiction

Been back in Pretoria for a month now, and I am sooo happy and grateful to be back in civilization

a few weekends ago my girlfriend and I watched a movie called "Stranger than fiction", very cute movie, about a dull taxman (Will Ferrell) who one day finds his whole life being narrated to him by a voice from nowhere that only he can hear, and he seeks help from a professor (Dustin Hoffman) after the voice tells the reader that he's going to die.

My ear caught a song called "whole wide world" by wreckless eric, here is the clip from the movie:

Artist: Wreckless Eric
Song: Whole Wide World Lyrics

When I was a young boy
My mama said to me
There's only one girl in the world for you
And she probably lives in Tahiti

I'd go the whole wide world
I'd go the whole wide world
Just to find her

Or maybe she's in the Bahamas
Where the Carribean sea is blue
Weeping in a tropical moonlit night
Because nobody's told her 'bout you

I'd go the whole wide world
I'd go the whole wide world
Just to find her
I'd go the whole wide world
I'd go the whole wide world
Find out where they hide her

Why am I hanging around in the rain out here
Trying to pick up a girl
Why are my eyes filling up with these lonely tears
When there're girls all over the world

Is she lying on a tropical beach somewhere
Underneath the tropical sun
Pining away in a heatwave there
Hoping that I won't be long

I should be lying on that sun-soaked beach with her
Caressing her warm brown skin
And then in a year or maybe not quite
We'll be sharing the same next of kin

I'd go the whole wide world
I'd go the whole wide world
Just to find her
I'd go the whole wide world
I'd go the whole wide world
Find out where they hide her

I personally believe that there is only one girl in the world for me (and I found her), some say that only to sound romantic, but I honestly believe it. I am not talking about the whole soulmate idea some people have (when you love someone it must be with your all, body+soul+spirit). Soulmate, Bodymate, Spiritmate, since they feel your hubby or honey isn't always your soulmate.... scary

If you cant give your all, rather get yourself a pet.

I often prayed to God to give me that one girl and get it over with, cause i seriously felt like half a person and it was depressing.

Someone told me that I must be able to feel whole by myself, without needing anyone, but as Christian that statement doesn't really make sense to me - because we (christians) need each other, its impossible to stand on your own (if you can, it means you're not standing anymore)

Also if you think about the whole process where you become one being after marrying someone... If you're half a being it makes sense, but if you're fully whole, whats the whole point? Is it even possible to become one with that person? Since parts of you will have to die? am I making any sense?

Perhaps just talking as someone in love?

Btw I honestly didn't care much about Will Ferrell before this movie, but I think he's quite a funny actor cant wait to see his movie "Blades of Glory"

is a cover song. The original is by The Monkees. "because we (christians) need each other, its impossible to stand on your own (if you can, it means you're not standing anymore)" You don't back up this statement at all. Also, this statement itself doesn't discredit the comment you were arguing against.

Sagat is totally wrong. That song is Wreckless Eric's brilliance, and The Monkees covered it. Along with countless other bands.
